Franken: Teal We Meet Again

I just kind of threw this together last night because I was feeling frustrated. Have you ever looked at your stash and thought, "I don't want to wear any of these"? Well, that was me last night. So I pulled out a half empty bottle of Color Club Naughtycal Navy and started adding stuff to it. I added ChG fairy Dust, Maybelline Going Green, Wet 'N Wild Hallucinate, and Misa Indescribable, and this is what I got. Two coats, Seche Vite on top:

Sunlight:

It's a beautiful sunny day here so I plan to clean my house. Woo hoo! Well, at least my nails will be pretty while I do it. :-)

Happy painting!

Misa Duochromes: Bojangles and Persian Carpet

My love affair for Misa continues in this post. First up is Persian Carpet, a jewel-toned purple shimmer that flashes amber. This is three coats, no topcoat.

Natural light:

You can see the amber here

Sunlight:

Reminds me of OPI Catherine the Grape here

The second shade is my favorite of the two; Bojangles. It's a warm pink shimmer that flashes orange. This is also three coats, no topcoat.

Sunlight:

You can see the orange here

Natural light:

In this picture in the shade, it reminds me of sherbet:

Formula wise, these were close to perfect. The first coats went on sheer, but the second coats were opaque. I added third coats but I really didn't need to. They both dried fast and I had no chipping issues.

I hope Misa releases more duochromes in the near future. Misa, are you reading this? Please make this happen...

Happy painting!

Misa Too Much Gossip

Misa Too Much Gossip is a pretty orange creme from the Girlfriends collection. I think this is a very wearable orange. It has just enough brightness that it looks cheerful and springy without being over the top.

Two coats, no topcoat.

Natural light:

Sunlight:

Indoors:

The formula was great. Misa has been pretty consistent for me, formula-wise. They generally apply well and wear for several days with no chipping. I think this may be one of the more underrated brands.

Misa Dirty Sexy Money and China Glaze Atlantis

I stopped by Sally Beauty Supply last night to get the new Fingerpaints, but they didn't have them in yet. I looked around a bit and saw that they had China Glaze Atlantis in its own display, which is odd since Atlantis was released in 2009 with several other specialty glitters. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining lol. I picked up Atlantis and a few $1.99 holiday shades they had on clearance.

I've had Misa Dirty Sexy Money for awhile. It was released with the 2009 Living in the Fast Lane collection. I'm sure you've seen it a million times, but I just did my first mani with it. Dirty Sexy Money is a dusty turquoise creme. It's very distinct.

Two coats, no topcoat.

Natural light:

Sunlight:

My pictures didn't adequately capture the dustiness of this polish. It's gorgeous. After I got done staring at it, I decided to layer Atlantis over it. Atlantis is a turquoise jelly with multicolored glitter.

Two coats over Dirty Sexy Money, no topcoat.

Natural light:

Sunlight (blurry so you can see the colors):

As you can see, Atlantis is insane. In a good way.

Formula wise, Dirty Sexy Money was perfect. Atlantis is a jelly, so it's not something I'd wear alone, and it's pretty thick. The glitter tends to group together, so I had to spread it a bit, but it's so amazing that I can forgive that.

By the way, I now have nubbins thanks to that broken ring fingernail the other day.

Happy painting!

Old NsOTD (cont.)

China Glaze Wagon Trail

This was my absolute favorite polish from the Rodeo Diva collection. WT has a black base with tons of fine gold shimmer. What's great about it is that the gold shimmer makes it look olive green. Absolutely gorgeous!

China Glaze DV8

Turquoise holo. Two coats, Seche Vite on top. For some reason, this was chippy on me. I think I got one day out of it.

Orly Glam

Deep red jelly with silver microglitter. This is two coats, but I probably could have used a third. Seche Vite on top.

This is actually one of my favorite reds. I don't care for most reds because I don't think they go well with my skintone, but this one has personality.
